Reflections of a Sunset

Tonight I witnessed the beautiful fiery orange and red glow of the setting sun in the west on sharp, frigid snow, and the pale pink reflections in the east... It reminded me of Christ and the beautiful, awsome glow of His love as it burns on our otherwise cold hearts, and the often too pale reflections of that amazing love we give to those around us. It also reminded me of the full glory of the Home that awaits us, and of the faded shadows in which we now live.

We are a reflection, a mere flicker of the perfection of the Perfect One.

This world is a shadow, a soft echo of the world beyond.

"We are a moment, You are forever

Lord of the ages, God before time

We are a vapour, You are eternal

Love everlasting reigning on high.

Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty

Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain

Highest praises honour and glory

Be unto Your name

Be unto Your name

We are the Broken, You are the healer

Jesus Redeemer mighty to save

You are the love song we'll sing forever

Bowing before You blessing Your name."

1 - Your post reminded me a lot of the last book in the Narnia series when King Tirian and everyone else go through the stable door into the world beyond. They finally realized that the new world was much the same as Narnia (the shadow-lands), only fuller, brighter, clearer, and deeper than the original. And much, much better! (Comment this)

2 - Mmm . . . thanks, both of you! Needed that eternal perspective again - and anything from Narnia will definitely drive it home for me!

P.S. - no fair! You have snow?! (Comment this)

4 - Aww that's too bad. In all the place's we've lived befor (that I can remember) we've always had a good view of the sunset, or sometimes sunrise. I love taking pictures of them. (Comment this)

7 - Matt - in all my book-reading escapades, I have not had the pleasure of reading the entire Narnia Series, including the one you mentioned...
Amy - Snow?? Um, well, actually that's the main reason I "borrowed" (or stole? :P)Matt for a little too long - my apologies, Ruth!;)
Jacinda - It was good to catch up with you too! I wouldn't mind to see you a little more often... does such a thing as triple dates ever happen? :) (Comment this)

8 - Hmm... I just purchased the Narnia series in Spanish to help me practise my Spanish. Maybe I could lend that to you - it might be a little tough reading though. I don't own the English version.
It's a set of 7 books, with titles such as The Horse and His Boy, the Magician's Nephew, The Silver Chair, etc. Fascinating reading, especially when you read it the second (third, fourth?) time through and see the Biblical themes throughout. (Comment this)

9 - If triple dates aren't a tradition, we could always make them one! Or you guys could all take Steve out and a photo of me for company!

Chrissy! You have never read the best books of all time?! Next time you are at my house, go ahead and raid the shelves (like I do to you every so often). (Comment this)
